UTH GmbH awarded with Gold again for „Healthy Work Environment in Fulda”

The IHK honors outstanding commitment to health and values in a company.

FULDA. The UTH GmbH scored again with its broad commitment to health and values: The machine manufacturer from Fulda/Germanywas reached a top results in the IHK-rating “Healthy Work Environment in Fulda” in the various categories. UTH achieved the rating Gold with the highest number of points.

“The health of our employees is the most important asset. Only those who are healthy and at the same time satisfied can perform well” stressed UTH’s HR Manager Eva-Maria Uth. The company receives the high award for the second time already. “Since 2018, we have not simply ‘carried on as before’ but developed proven methods and initiated further developments in order to improve our employees’ work environment”, Uth said.

The rating involved the physical-medical, spiritual-intellectual, mental-emotional as well as social-communicative, cultural-ecological as well as meaningful-value-conscious areas again.

Encouraging exchange

„We put a lot of emphasis on optimal communication among each other in the company”, said Peter J. Uth while explaining new digital options. “We have to be considerate of all our team members’ needs, no matter if they are a service technician who is currently installing a machine in the far East or an office assistant in the administration or in Home-Office.”

UTH has created new possibilities for information and exchange in their intranet.

“Not only news from the company and the newest Covid regulations are posted on there, but also tips for self-organization in Home-Office: taking breaks, working with a good posture, doing relaxation exercises regularly or adapting one’s diet accordingly.”

Keeping up the team spirit within the company in the challenging times due to the pandemic is very important to the executive management. Therefore, they have invested a lot in improving the digital area.

“Today, even the commissioning, maintenance and service of machines can be carried out digitally and thus in an environment-friendly manner”, Uth said. Employees receive practical support in projects which require them to go on business trips. “For example, we keep smooth-running rolling suitcases or ergonomic backpacks on hand to make trips abroad as comfortable as possible.”

Massage at work

However, some health plans are currently postponed due to the pandemic. According to Eva-Maria Uth, the company planned to have mobile massage-options at work and SMOVEY fitness courses introduced a long time ago. “Unfortunately, we were unable to realize these plans last year but it is at the top of the to-do-list of 2022 as long as the pandemic allows it.” The UTH-Intranet is currently in work to become an app for employees to get access to information and offers even faster via mobile devices

“The award ‘Healthy Work Environment in Fulda’ is a great recognition for our company”, said Eva-Maria Uth. She is convinced:  “And of course, such a seal shows potential applicants how a company stands on the subject of health. An argument which should not be underestimated if it is about the appeal of the employer, especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers.
