UTH presents a new dimension of fine mesh straining in the mixing line at the DKT in Nuremberg


New solutions for the gentle and clean processing of rubber compounds at the German Rubber Conference DKT 2018, taking place in Nuremberg from July 02 to 05, 2018.

At stand no. 139, hall 12, UTH GmbH from Fulda/Germany presents its latest product range, in both the areas of roll-ex® fine mesh straining and roll-ex® gear pump technology. The outstanding focus is a highly cost-effective and innovative solution for the fine mesh straining of final compounds in the mixing line: the roll-ex® 220 TRF.

Rubber processing presents enormous challenges day in day out to rubber and tyre manufacturers. The demand is for the highest level of product quality while simultaneously increasing operating efficiency. Accordingly, with the roll-ex® 220 model UTH offers an economical solution for the manufacturing of tyre, rubber and silicone products. The roll-ex® 220 TRF is designed for throughput rates of up to 2,500 kg/h and guarantees a high productivity.

It is advantageous to use roll-ex® gear extruders (even with frequent compound changes or the usage of coloured materials), since they can be cleaned quickly and thoroughly on account of their patented design. The modular roll-ex® system can be combined with a two-roll feeder (TRF), a screw feeder, or a conical twin-screw extruder. Throughput rates of up to 10,000 kg/h are possible. The roll-ex® extrusion system developed by UTH has become a benchmark for fine mesh straining of rubber compounds worldwide.

Precise extrusion is another primary application of roll-ex® gear extruders and gear pumps, where high operating pressures (up to 800 bars) can be applied. UTH can offer, among other things, system solutions (including the supply of complete lines) for the manufacture of rubber-coated wire, yarn or fibre components.

UTH GmbH presents a new Polymer Dosing System at the ACHEMA


An innovative solution for feeding and exact dosing of viscous to high viscous polymers as well adhesives and sealants UTH GmbH will present from 11-15 June 2018 for the first time at the ACHEMA, Frankfurt am Main, at stand D18, hall 5.1.

The Fulda/Germany based company exhibits its extended product range and presents a new Polymer Dosing System. Based on the proven roll-ex® gear pump technology the continuous polymer dosing system offers a solution specially for the feeding, plasticizing and dosing of polymers of higher viscosity.

The supply of highly viscous and solid components in continuous mixing processes imposes high requirements on the dosing technology. The polymer dosing system is the solution for exact dosing of such materials with different types and shapes. Based on the modular designed roll-ex® system, it is composed of a gear pump combined with a suitable feeding unit like a single screw extruder or conical twin screw extruder. This dosing solution guarantees an easy handling and offers the provision for simple process integration.

Efficient way of silicon compounding
In addition the manufacturer of this special machinery presents its product in the field of silicon mixing: the roll-ex® MDSE (mixing conical twin screw extruder). This product enables an integrated solution for mixing of silicon rubber compounds, elastomers of low viscosity and the subsequent shaping of feed strips or blanks in a compact solution.

Complementary to this process the material can be passed onto a connected downstream device such as a gear pump or single screw extruder and connected strainer head for straining application. The MDSE is based on the principle of the conical twin screw extruder. An easy and simple cleaning as well as the mixing under vacuum will promote especially the mixing of final compounds.

Quality improvement of tire compounds by efficient fine mesh straining-technology


New, innovative solutions for the processing of rubber compounds at the Tire Technology Expo 2018 in Hannover from 20 – 22 February.

 UTH GmbH from Fulda/Germany will exhibit its extended range of pro-ducts at stand no. 4012. The company’s core competencies covering both roll-ex® fine mesh straining systems and roll-ex® gear pump technology. Based on these systems, tire manufactures around the globe are simoultanous able to face rubber processing challenges and meeting highest quality targets along with operating cost efficiency.

UTH has gained profinciency in perfecting the manufacturing of specialized products supplied to different areas of the tire manufacturing industry. Typical applications can be found within the mixing lines for final compounds and master batches, in complete offline straining cells, in profile extrusion lines or in the  reworking of tire compounds. “It has been proven, that the quality of rubber compounds can be improved significantly by fine mesh straining”, clarifies Peter J. Uth (Managing Director, UTH GmbH).

Accordingly, UTH has made progress in perfecting the manufacturing of tyre, rubber and silicone products. With throughputs up to 10000 kg/h the Gear Pump Extruders are a particulary good choice for the operation in mixing-lines of the tire industry. Using either the compact two-roll feeder (TRF) or a conical twin screw feeder (DSE), the modular design of the roll-ex® system enables the integration of the strainer in each specific line design.

Because of the flexible and compact design, a seemless integration into existing lines is also possible. The high level of automation, as well as the very gentle processing of compounds in the gear extruder, keep the impact on the existing processes to a minimum. The supply of intelligent up- and downstream equipment to enable a seemless integration of the strainer in even the largest mixing lines completes the portfolio of UTH. Where necessary, dedicated individual solutions are developed together with the customer. UTH GmbH continues to invest in their corporate headquarters in Fulda, Germany


With the construction of a new assembly hall, UTH GmbH has recently invested a seven-digit sum in its headquarters in Fulda, Germany. The new building represents a step further in the growth strategy of the engineering company for its production site in the centre of Germany.

The company’s core competencies lie in manufacturing rubber processing machinery. They specialize in large machines for the gear pump technology sector and fine mesh straining solutions. Over the years, Uth GmbH has consistently provided innovative solutions and intelligent technologies to meet the continuously increasing demands of the rubber, tire and silicone industry. “Many new developments placed increased demands on our operational resources. For example, our newly developed TRP technology (two-roll plasticizer), weighted at 40 tonnes, is designed for the preparation of rubber compounds and had brought us to our capacity limits.” explains Managing Director Peter J. Uth.

On the 7th of March, 2017 UTH GmbH broke ground and laid the foundation for its new assembly hall. After a short construction time of five months, the hall was inaugurated at the end of August. The expansion of the assembly area at the company’s headquarters is a clear commitment to the production in Germany although the manufacturer’s international focus with 80 percent exports share as well as branches in China and India. “We want to continue producing and distributing quality machines worldwide which are made in Germany and meet the highest standards. We continuously focus on the research and development of our innovative products in order to further expand our position on the global market.” says Uth.

The investment results in an additional production area of ​​around 1.100 sqm   . The new building was designed according to the latest standards for simultaneous and flexible machine manufacturing. Now machinery weighing up to 25 tonnes can be moved. High product quality, ergonomics, sustainability and energy efficiency also play an important role. For example, the hall is equipped with underfloor heating, the latest LED lighting technology and daylight-emitting light domes. The new building expands the total area to around 10.000 sqm.

New solutions made by UTH at the K Show 2016


New solutions for the gentle processing of rubber compounds at the K 2016 in Düsseldorf from 19th to 26th of October. UTH GmbH, from Fulda, presents its expanded product range, including both the roll-ex® fine mesh straining technology and roll-ex® gear pump technology at stand D41 in hall 15.

UTH has been producing gear extruders for the tyre, rubber and silicone industry for more than 20 years. The premiere of these innovative products took place at the K 1995 in Düsseldorf. With its gear pump systems, UTH set a new standard concerning the processing of highly accelerated rubber compounds. With this new technology, the continuous and efficient straining of rubber compounds under high pressure yet at constant temperature became possible for the first time.

In the 1980s, experts from UTH realised that contaminated compounds led to considerable quality defects in the rubber industry. The solutions that were available on the market at that time were unsatisfactory especially in terms of their throughput. The system presented at the K 1995 had a throughput of 200 kg/h, which was truly groundbreaking back then. Today, UTH produces gear pump extruders and strainers with a throughput of up to 10,000 kg/h.

Apart from fine mesh straining, precision extrusion is another application focus of roll-exÒ gear extruders and gear pumps where high working pressures of up to 800 bar can be applied.  UTH can supply complete lines as a system solution for the manufacture of rubber-coated wire, yarn or fibre components.

New solutions for the processing of rubber compounds at the DKT / IRC in Nuremberg


On stand no. 12-129, UTH GmbH from Fulda, Germany presents its again expanded product range, in both the areas of roll-ex® fine mesh straining and roll-ex® gear pump technology. The outstanding highlight is the new offline solution for the straining of rubber compounds, the roll-ex® straining cell.

Rubber processing presents enormous challenges day in day out to rubber and tyre manufacturers. The demand is for the highest level of product quality while simultaneously increasing operating efficiency. Accordingly, with the straining cell UTH GmbH has made fresh progress in perfecting the manufacturing of tyre, rubber and silicone products.

The straining cell developed by UTH is a fully automated solution for the fine mesh straining of rubber compounds (offline), consisting of strainer, strip cooler and stacking and packing device. In the process, the modular roll-ex® gear extruder can be combined with both a two-roll feeder (TRF) and a screw feeder (SF).

After the straining process, the material is intensively and uniformly cooled in a high-performance drum cooler. The cooling technology, which is particularly gentle on the material, prevents deformation and anti-adhesive concentrations on the strips. The clean material is then packed in an extremely space-saving manner by means of an ingenious packing and stacking device. The individual units of the straining cell can be arranged in a way that is flexible and very compact, which also allows the production of customised solutions.

As a fine mesh straining and precision extrusion specialist, UTH GmbH uses exhibits to advise on the specific advantages and possible applications of roll-exÒ technology on stand no. 12-129.
